What exactly is a TubShroom®?

The TubShroom® is our very first product release. It is a drain protector & hair catcher for your bath tub drain that simply works better than the alternatives that are out there. It fits 1.5" and 1.75" bath tub drains as well like a glove and catches every hair out of sight without disrupting the flow of water. Clean up is a breeze with a simple swipe of the hair with a paper towel every few weeks.

What is so special about the SinkShroom®?

The SinkShroom® is our second product release. It is basically a smaller TubShroom that is meant for your bathroom sink drain. It currently is compatible with 1" to 1.25" sink drains. It has several modifications that differentiate it from the TubShroom so it works as well as possible in as many drains as possible.

Why do I need the ShowerShroom®?

The ShowerShroom® is our 3rd product release and it is a drain protector & hair catcher made specifically for your shower stall (ie stand up shower) drain. These drains are overwhelmingly 2" in diameter and the ShowerShroom was made specifically for 2" drains to maximize compatibility. The unit is designed to go completely out of sight under your drain cover. Some older bath tub drains are about 2", so the ShowerShroom should work well for those as well.

How do all three 'Shroom products work?

Our patent-pending designs and technology are the product of extensive testing and refinement. We experienced clogged drains first-hand on a regular basis and could not find a satisfactory long-term solution. Drain cleaners were hit or miss and are terrible for the pipes and environment. Other drain protectors didn't work all that well. So we went to the drawing board and were able to come up with our mushroom-like design that worked amazingly well for us. We sought to balance water-flow, air-flow, aesthetics, and ease of use and, thankfully, we think we achieved our vision. You be the judge!

How quickly will my order ship?

Nearly every order we receive is shipped out within 24-48 hours from warehouses in the Northeastern United States. Most customers in the United States receive their orders within 2-5 business days of when they ordered. We ship overseas to most countries and the arrival times have varied from 4 to 14 business days. If your order has not arrived by the 15th day, feel free to email us at support@tubshroom.com for a quick investigation.

Can I return it if I don't like it?

After we attempt to help you diagnose any issues you may be having, we'll gladly accept returns on any of our products. We typically ask that you contact us within 60 days of receiving your product for a return, but we'll gladly extend this courtesy if special circumstances arise. As long as you ship the unit back to one of our warehouses in a timely manner, we will gladly issue a full refund of your purchase price. Please email support@tubshroom.com to inquire about returns.

Are there any new products on the horizon?

We're always brainstorming on ways to help you to protect your drains in your home. We hope to be able to come up with more A+ products for your home in the future, but we won't simply release new products for the sake of releasing them. Anything new from our company has to be amazing or we won't put it out. That's our promise to you.

How do I keep my Shroom products clean?

Here are our recommended best-practice cleaning and maintenance instructions. Our strainer products are dishwasher safe, and are safe to virtually any bleach-free cleaner in your home. We definitely recommend rinsing the strainers every time that you clean the hair by simply holding it in the stream of warm running water. If your 'Shroom product already accumulated some soap sediment, we suggest that you squeeze the product a few times in your hand. It will help break up any substance built up on the inside of the unit helping the cleanup process. Then you can soak it in a water and non-bleach cleaner solution, and then use an old toothbrush to clean it. This cleaning method seems to work best after prolonged use. We also recommend this all-purpose cleaner solution: Mix 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup baking soda (or 2 teaspoons borax) into 1/2 gallon (2 liters) water.

How do I remove my old stopper?

Most factory-installed stoppers can be popped out or uncrewed by turning the stopper itself counter-clockwise. For some sink stoppers, you must look under your sink for the single screw or twist-off part to loosen your stopper so you can remove it from the top. Youtube has a collection of instructional videos on this topic.

What's so special about the "Ultra" versions?

The Ultra versions of our products are the latest iterations that are built to be more durable and to have wider compatibility with your drain types. That doesn't mean our non-Ultra products are obsolete. Our originals, as we call them, are still among the best reviewed strainer products on the planet. It all comes down to preference.

What if I want to plug my drain?

If you want to stop or plug your drain while you are using our 'Shroom products, then you can either swap in your old factory-installed stopper each time you're taking a bath, for example, and then swap out your 'Shroom strainer once you want the water to drain. Or you can purchase one of our StopShroom products which come in a 2 pack universal plug model and a Mushroom-shaped cover model.

How do I clear my clogged drain before using your products?

There are many ways to clear your clogged drains. Some people use boiling hot water to attempt to loosen the clogs. This can work in some cases, but some clogs are just too difficult to remove. Liquid clog removers can work in some cases but the toll on the environment and on your pipes can be high. Look for our DrainShroom drain snake to get those nasty clogs out. DrainShroom attaches to any power drill (sold separately) to create a whirling drain snake that gets most clogs out fast.
